Our Mission

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, securing America's future through better education for children, and preserving American history.

While Canton Chapter, NSDAR, members are from different backgrounds, we come together to honor our ancestry, serve our communities, and to help our country. A large and active chapter, we have members of all ages and are always looking to welcome new friends. If you live in Canton, Green, North Canton, Jackson Township, or the surrounding communities and believe that one of your ancestors may have served in the Revolutionary War, we encourage you to learn more about our chapter and the exciting things we are doing.

Member since 2018

remember first learning about my family history during a school project. As I was looking through boxes of old papers I came across my great grandfathers membership certificate to the Sons of the American Revolution. Over the years, I pursued joining DAR a couple of times but life always seemed to get in the way. However, once I met the  ladies of the Canton Chapter, NSDAR, I knew that this was the right group and time to join. They were so welcoming and made the application process so simple. The Canton ladies have led fascinating lives, and I am quickly making new friends! I am so thankful I joined!
